接近 Approaching

輪郭をほぼ原型通り取り始めた。後戻りが出来ない緊張する作業だ。

I started making the outline almost as the prototype. It is a tense work which I can't do over again.

すすきと青空 Japanese pampas grass and the blue sky

青空が広がり、ひんやりとした秋の風がすすきをゆらす。暦の上では最早冬だ。

The blue sky spreads over, and the cool wind of Autumn blows Japanese pampas grass. It is already in winter as the calendar.

面影 The image of the face

少しずつ顔の面影が出てきた。マリア像を彫っていると、厳粛な気持ちになる。

Gradually the image of the face appears. As I am sculpting Madonna statue, I have a feeling of awe.

顔 Face

顔も彫り始めた。ある程度顔も彫っておかないと、位置関係がうまくつかめないからだ。このままでも、何か暖かい感じがする。

I started sculpting the face. Because if I don't sculpt it to some extent, I can't grasp positions of the parts well. As it is, it gives something warm.

前から From the front

前からも彫り始めた。思ったよりも速いペースだ。この分だと１１月中に終わるかな？

I started sculpting from the front. It goes at a good pace, so may I finish it during November?

横顔 Profile

側面から見るとこんな感じ。やはり前からも彫らないと、側面をどのくらい彫ったらいいのかわからない。

It looks like this in profile. As expected, I can't know how much I sculpt from the side, except I sculpt from the front.

側面からも彫り始めた。今月中には、正面を残して、彫り終わるかな？
