Stone canvas （石のキャンバス）

Today I tried to make a plane like a stone canvas. From now on, I will make every part in detail. Of course, needless to say, the climax will be the ear.

今日は、平面を作り、まるで石のキャンバスのようだ。ここからは、細部をどんどん作っていく。もちろん、言うまでもなく、耳が最大の山場となるだろう。

Curve 5mm （５ｍｍを削る）

An eye, lips and a chin, I'm curving 5mm carefully now. And day by day, details will appear.

目と唇、そしてあご、５ｍｍを慎重に削っているところだ。日に日に、細部が現れてくる。

Shadow （陰影）

Now we can see the shadow. It means it has become a face with more deeply chiseled features. Today, just one week has passed since I started sculpting.　

陰影が見えるようになってきた。これは、より立体的な顔になってきたことを意味している。彫り始めてから、今日で、ちょうど一週間になる。

The whiteness （白さ）

With sunlight, you can see the whiteness of this marble. Now we can see the outline of her face more clearly, but not yet enough.

太陽光によって、この大理石の白さがわかるだろう。今や顔の輪郭がよりはっきりとわかるようになってきたが、まだ十分とは言えない。

Lily and statue of mother and child （ユリと母子像）

In the office of Sato Sekizai, Ibaragi Prefecture, a marble statue of mother and child(Wan, 1994) is on the front table. So, I put lilies in a marble vase beside it. How calm they are!

佐藤石材の茨城工場の事務所には、大理石の母子像（王秀杞、1994）が入り口のテーブルの上に置かれている。そこで、私は大理石製の花瓶にユリをさして、そばに飾ってみた。なんとのどかな風景だろう。

Now you can see the outline of her face （顔の輪郭）

Not so clear, but you can see the outline of her face. This time my sculpting goes well.

まだはっきりとはしていないが、顔の輪郭を見て取ることができる。今回は順調に進んでいる。

The position of her ear （耳の位置）

Gradually her face has appeared. And now I marked the position of her ear on the marble. From now on, I will curve more the outline of her face.

だんだんと、顔が現れてきた。今大理石に耳の位置を書き込んでみたところだ。これから、顔の輪郭をもっと彫っていく。
