The second day （二日目）

This is today's results. I realized again how hard it was to cut a marble with a handsaw. To make matters worse, a marble was never cut straightly with a handsaw. So every time I must file the rounded plane and make it flat with a file. This small and flat plane makes me feel something special...

今日の結果はここまで。いかにのこぎりで大理石を切るのが大変か思い知らされる。おまけに、のこぎりでは、決してまっすぐに切れない。そこで、毎回やすりをかけて、丸く歪んでしまった平面を、まっすぐな平面になおしていく。この小さな平らな平面は何か特別な思いを私に感じさせるのであった・・・。
